It has been great to see so many of you returning to the walking bus on a regular basis – keep up the good work.

All of the regular walking bus passengers should now have received a certificate for walking to school for the whole of the Autumn term – well done!!

Can you all please try and speak to your classmates and friends at school and encourage more people to use the walking bus?? Last term we made approx. 1000 journeys on the walking bus… which means (if the cars are all full – not that they would be) there would be about 20 less cars on the road outside school every week…. a great achievment BUT I know that we can do better.

For adult helpers (mums / dads) – I am looking for ideas for a treat for us grown ups in the near future… maybe it could be a subsidised meal out or trip to the Snowdome or a show at the Garrick…. please let me know what YOU would like to do…. I think we probably have about 300GBP to spend. You deserve a treat for all of the effort you put in to keep the walking bus running!!!

How do everyone!

My apologies for not being quite as active on the BLOG recently – life has been really busy.

Just a quick note to let you know that there are some new goodies available for passengers and drivers and we will be handing them out this coming Wed morning – make sure tyou let everyone know that they need to be on the bus to get the goodies!! Why not wear a Christmassy Hat too – and we can sing our way to school as well!!!

I will also be handing out some certificates to all of the passengers and young conductors in the cmong week too….. in order that I can work out how many journeys we have made on the two buses during tis last term (and therefore how many care we have kept off Cherry Orchard in the busy mornings please can you make sure that you ALL bring your bus passes to school next week.

If I don’t get a chance to see you all before next week have a lovely Christmas and a great New Year.

The Circus skills afternoon was organised on Tuesday 4th Nov 2008 between 14.30 – 17.30hrs which meant that the kids had some time off normal afternoon activities with almost 35 regular walking bus passengers took part in the afternoons fun and games which was held in the school hall.
The children were entertained by Jay Linn – a fantastic Circus Skills performer who brought with him peacock feathers – for learning how to balance things and juggling balls, clubs, spinning plates, unicycles, poi, chinese ribbons, diablo and devil sticks.
We also had birthday cake to celebrate OUR first birthday – ONE YEAR of the walking bus at St Josephs School.
Feedback from everyone from reception through to Year 6 has been really good and the school are desperately hoping that it will encourage MORE children to get involved with the walking bus.

If you want to get involved with the WALKING BUS please give me a ring OR check out the noticeboard on the school playground.

How do everyone?

As you all know Halloween is just around the corner BUT unforntunately this year we won’t be at school as it is half term – therefore how about joining the “GHOULISH” – walking bus this friday the 24th Oct.

Why not put on your scariest mask or witches hat……. you may even have been wearing it at the school DISCO!!

All for a bit of fun….. but remember once you are at school you need to leave your fancy dress masks in your school bag.

See you later this week

Matt

Come on kids – let me know when you want to be a conductor – there is loads of space on the ROTA!!!

Matt
